This original series, created and produced by The Ann Arbor Life, takes you behind the scenes of one of Michigan’s most vibrant annual art experiences, the August 2025 Ann Arbor Explore Event, where creativity, community, and culture converge in the heart of downtown.

A Celebration of Art, People, and Place

Each episode of this documentary series will spotlight the artists, makers, and curators who bring Ann Arbor’s Main Street to life. From painters and scu to musicians, you’ll experience firsthand what makes Ann Arbor one of the most inspiring creative communities in the Midwest.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the voices and visions behind the event, real stories of imagination, collaboration, and expression that define Ann Arbor’s artistic identity.

Coming October 2025: The Full Series

The full Explore Art: Ann Arbor Main Street Encounter 2025 series will premiere in the summer of 2025, aligning with the city’s celebrated Explore Ann Arbor August Art Events. Stay tuned as we roll out interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and exclusive artist features leading up to the premiere.

As a real estate professional, my work is about more than just homes. It’s about the communities that make them worth living in. And as a storyteller with a background from NYU film school and projects like my podcast series, “Two Cities: One Dream,” I believe in telling good stories. This event was a perfect moment where both of my passions met.

Artists from Detroit, Grand Rapids, Ypsilanti, and beyond gathered to “paint what they wanted” on large canvases. Their excitement was contagious, a reminder of the raw creativity that defines our region. It was a powerful display of the art and culture that makes our city a truly special place to live. University towns are hubs of energy, ideas, and innovation, and this event was a brilliant example of that.

We’ve been working on a video series that goes behind the scenes with these amazing artists, showcasing their talent and the moments that made this day so memorable.
